Each season our club trains about 350 Nippers plus many candidates for SRC (Cadet) and Bronze Medallion, teaching them how to safeguard themselves and others around water. These training programs are all dependent on volunteer instructors from our club membership, working in teams with qualified experienced colleagues.

We reply on both qualified Trainers (who are not Instructors) as well as instructors. For more information on being a qualified Trainer, please visit the Further Training page.

Instructing is rewarding and enjoyable, and a great way to cement your own lifesaving skills.

If you are interested in volunteering as an instructor, complete the online form by 31 October.
CLICK HERE for "Instructor Expression of Interest" online form.

Completing the form does not lock you into being an instructor - it just indicates that you are interested. We make a list of all club members who are interested, and contact them by email as the season approaches.

  • If aged 17+ at start of season (30 September) you MUST have a current WWCC which lists our club. See The Club / Working with Children Check for details. Don't wait, apply early!
  • Lifesaving awards must be requalified by end of year (by 31 December 2016 for season 2016-17). This takes about two hours - most members attend a district session in November or early December. Dates are publicised via the wesite, email, SMS & Facebook when confirmed. See details at Education / Skills Maintenance (Requals).
