The Club

We will provide lifesaving services for the community of Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff, enable our members to develop their skills, knowledge and experience in lifesaving and sports and to improve the profile and influence of the club through community and member involvement and leadership in development programs and initiatives. We will be an open and inclusive organization and integral part of the community that we serve.

 

Point Lonsdale SLSC Facts

  • Founded in 1947, making it the fourth Coastal Surf Life Saving Club in Victoria and the oldest in the Geelong (foremerly Bellarine) District.
  • Providing patrolled beaches at the Point Lonsdale Back Beach and Santa Casa Beach Queenscliff.
  • 1,770 Lives Saved since formation.
  • Life Saving Victoria Club of the Year 2005.
  • Winner State Patrol Efficiency Competition 1991 / 1992.
  • Australian Champions in 1964 / 1965, 1974 / 1975, 1975 / 1976, 1996 / 1997 and 2001 / 2002.

Point Lonsdale SLSC Illegal Drug Policy

  • In June 2016, the Club adopted an Illegal Drug Policy. This initiative is part of the Clubs that Care program provided by Leisure Networks, supported by Barwon Child Youth and Family and Geelong Connected Communities and endorsed by Life Saving Victoria.
